Studying law at University is not a vital prerequisite for a distinguished career in legal practice. But those advocating the non-law route into the profession may undervalue the benefits of the law degree, both for those intending to practise and those not so intending. This important debate will examine the arguments. Justice of The Supreme Court, The Right Hon Lord Sumption will speak for the motion. Professor Graham Virgo of the Faculty will speak against. The debate will be chaired by Sir Patrick Elias, Lord Justice of Appeal.
