The UK Court of AppealThe Faculty is delighted to welcome the appointment of two Cambridge alumni to the Court of Appeal.

Mr Justice Philip Sales read Law at Churchill College, and was called to the Bar in 1985. He served as a Recorder from 1999 to 2008. He was appointed First Treasury Junior Counsel (Common Law) in 1997 and (upon becoming a QC in 2006) became First Treasury Counsel (Common Law) where he served until being appointed to the High Court, Chancery Division in 2008.

Mr Justice David Bean read Law at Trinity Hall and was also President of the Cambridge Union Society in 1975 before being called to the Bar, Middle Temple in 1976. He served as a Recorder in 1996–2004, becoming Queen's Counsel in 1997. He was appointed as a High Court Judge, Queen's Bench Division in 2004.

These appointments were made by Her Majesty The Queen and will fill forthcoming vacancies in the Court of Appeal in Autumn 2014.
