Amanda Perreau-Saussine EzcurraOn the weekend of 13-15 February 2015, a Colloquium was held in memory of Emile Perreau-Saussine and Amanda Perreau-Saussine de Ezcurra. The theme was 'Catholic and Secular' and speakers included Joshua Getzler, Raymond Geuss, Jim Murphy, Onora O'Neill, and Nigel Simmonds. Topics ranged from St. Augustine to Albert Camus, from Maimonides to Gerard Manley Hopkins, and from Aristotle to Vincent Descombes.

The Colloquium took place in the beautiful surroundings of Boarbank Hall, Allithwaite, Cumbria and was blessed with mild spring sunshine. The distant Lakeland fells were snow covered and the lanes were lined with snowdrops. In every respect the occasion was a fitting tribute to Amanda and Emile.

Plans are afoot to hold a similar event next year, this time focusing upon themes drawn from Amanda's published and unpublished writings, and perhaps with the aim of producing a volume of essays in her memory.
