Death of Professor Sir Bob Hepple

The Faculty is saddened to announce the death on Friday of Professor Sir Bob Hepple. Professor Hepple was Emeritus Professor of Law and Emeritus Master of Clare College. In 2014 Professor Hepple was awarded the Order of Luthuli Gold Medal on South African Freedom Day, marking the 20th anniversary of the first democratic elections.

Professor Hepple was interviewed by Lesley Dingle for the Eminent Scholars Archive between August 2007 and June 2008, where he reflected on his academic career, including his time in South Africa before he came to the UK in 1963, and his long association with the Faculty of Law at the University of Cambridge.

Professor Hepple's ESA entry has been updated to provide links to the many obituaries and tributes which have been published.

A memorial service will be held for Bob in Clare College, Cambridge, on 23 October 2015.
