Jens Scherpe appointed Cheng Yu Tung Visiting Professor in Law

Dr Jens Scherpe has been appointed as the Cheng Yu Tung Visiting Professor in Law at the University of Hong Kong for the period of 1 November 2015 – 31 October 2018.

Jens will be teaching courses on Comparative Family Law in Hong Kong. He has previously taught this course in Cambridge and the University of Hong Kong as well as at the University of Auckland, and similar courses at the University of Leuven and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona.

The Professorship was established at the University of Hong Kong in 2009, with a sum of $20 million from the $400 million donation made by Dr Cheng Yu Tung in 2008, to enable distinguished and eminent scholars to be invited to visit the Faculty of Law and spend a short period of time in the Faculty on research and teaching, with a view to strengthening the University's links with leading universities and situations as well as enhancing the global visibility of the Faculty.
