The American Law Institute has appointed Professor Sarah Worthington and Dr Peter Turner as members of the International Advisory Panel for the ALI’s Restatement of the Law Fourth, Property. The fourth Restatement will be more comprehensive than the third in addressing neglected but important areas of personal property law and greater coverage of topics such as security interests. It will also focus on "architectural" themes in property law in an effort to identify areas of consensus in an ostensibly fractured field of American law.

The Reporter for the fourth Restatement is Professor Henry E Smith of the Harvard Law School. Members of the International Advisory Panel are appointed to advise on all aspects of the project and particularly to inform the Reporter and the Associate Reporters of the law in other jurisdictions and how those other jurisdictions address problems that the ALI wishes to address for American law.

The International Advisory Panel for the Restatement of the Law Fourth, Property has eleven members. Other members of the panel are the Hon. Justice William Gummow (Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal and University of Sydney), Professor Ben McFarlane (UCL), Professor James Penner (National University of Singapore) and Professor Reinhard Zimmerman (Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Hamburg).
