Alison Young speaks before Parliamentary Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee

The Faculty's Professor Alison Young was invited to give evidence before the Parliamentary Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee (PACAC) on Monday 29 January.

Professor Young gave evidence alongside the Rt Hon The Lord Judge (former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales), Sir Stephen Laws QC (Former First Parliamentary Counsel), and Sir Malcolm Jack (Former Clerk of the House of Commons) on the key Brexit subject of the role of Parliament in the UK constitution: Mechanisms allowing Parliament to direct the Executive.

Professor Young is Sir David Williams Professor of Public Law at the Faculty, and the author of Parliamentary Sovereignty and the Human Rights Act (Hart Publishing), and Democratic Dialogue and the Constitution (OUP). She is also co-editor of the UKCLA blog on constitutional law, and a member of the Editorial Board of European Public Law.
