The fact that we have retained the top position over the years reflects our continued commitment to academic excellence.Professor Brian Cheffins

The Faculty of Law has again been recognised as the country's leading law school in the recently published Guardian University Guide 2020, retaining the top position for the sixth year in a row. This year the Faculty has already been ranked first in the UK in both the Complete University Guide and The Times University Guide.  The University also ranked top in the general league table.

The Guardian table is compiled by independent consultancy Intelligent Metrix, and ranks university departments according to eight factors which are considered important to students, including student satisfaction, teaching quality, staff-student ratio, expenditure on students, and employability.

Commenting on the publication of the results, Chair of the Faculty, Professor Brian Cheffins said:

"We are delighted that the exceptional education we offer has been recognised again on this independent scale, judged on a range of factors most important to our students. The fact that we have retained the top position over the years reflects our continued commitment to academic excellence. Our staff-student ratio, our world-class facilities and our full commitment to first-rate teaching ensures an unrivalled educational experience employers value highly".
