Stellenbosch UniversityThe Faculty of Law has maintained successful pathways agreements with a number of leading Australian universities since 2014, and is very pleased to announce the conclusion of another such agreement with Stellenbosch University, commencing in 2021.

This new '3.5+1' law pathways agreement allows students in the penultimate year of their LLB at Stellenbosch to apply for admission to the Cambridge LLM or Masters in Corporate Law (MCL) programme. Students can be admitted to these graduate degrees once they have undertaken three and a half years of full-time law study at Stellenbosch, provided they already hold an undergraduate degree. Successful completion of the one-year Cambridge degrees will normally be accepted by Stellenbosch in substitution for the final semester of the LLB Program, meaning that these students complete the studies for their Stellenbosch and Cambridge degrees at the same time.

Professor Jens M. Scherpe, the Director of International Strategy and Partnerships commented: "We are delighted to extend our network of pathways agreements, and to forge links with one of the leading African law schools. The pathways agreements attract outstanding students to undertake the LLM or MCL at Cambridge, and we are looking forward to welcoming these students from South Africa to Cambridge."
