Stevie Martin giving evidenceThe Faculty's Dr Stevie Martin gave evidence last week before the parliamentary Joint Select Committee on Human Rights. The Committee were taking oral evidence Human rights and assisted dying.

The Joint Committee on Human Rights consists of twelve members, appointed from both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, to examine matters relating to human rights within the United Kingdom, as well as scrutinising every Government Bill for its compatibility with human rights.

Dr Martin gave evidence alongside Paul Bowen KC (Barrister, Brick Court Chambers, Deputy High Court Judge, Administrative Court and Family Division), Professor Richard Ekins (Professor of Law and Constitutional Government, The University of Oxford, Head of Judicial Power Project, Policy Exchange) and James Strachan KC (Barrister, 39 Essex Chambers).

Dr Martin is a College Lecturer in Law and Fellow/Bye-Fellow at Fitzwilliam and King's Colleges.
