It is with great sadness that the Faculty of Law notes that Peter Glazebrook, formerly University Lecturer in Law, has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
Peter arrived at the Faculty in 1967, having previously taught in Oxford and Exeter. An expert in criminal law, his name is probably best known to generations of undergraduates throughout the country as editor of annual editions of Blackstone's Statutes on Criminal Law. He also produced articles on topics as diverse as necessity, situational liability and corporate liability, many of which are still highly regarded today. Peter was also a frequent contributor to the case note section of the Cambridge Law Journal, and his engaging writing style, and ability to concisely demonstrate judicial error and confusion, will be remembered fondly by those who read those contributions.
Peter was a Fellow and Director of Studies at Jesus College from 1967-2001, and was heavily devoted to, and involved in, College life even in retirement. A notice about Peter is available on Jesus College’s website.
