Professor Antony Anghie joins faculty as 2024/5 Goodhart ProfessorThe holder of the Arthur Goodhart Visiting Professor in Legal Science chair in 2024-2025 is Professor Antony Anghie from the National University of Singapore and the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law.

Professor Anghie is a distinguished scholar whose wide-ranging research interests include public and private international law; human rights; globalization, development issues, and international law; terrorism and the use of force; international business transactions and international economic law; colonialism and the history of public international law; and third world approaches to international law.

As Goodhart Professor, Professor Anghie will be part of the Cambridge Law Faculty for one academic year, and is delivering what promises to be a fascinating LLM course on the Global South and International Law.

The Faculty is delighted to welcome Professor Anghie to the Faculty. His tenure provides an important opportunity for Cambridge academics and students to learn from and engage with his insights into some of the most pressing issues in the world today.

The University of Cambridge established the Arthur Goodhart Visiting Professor of Legal Science in 1972 to commemorate the eightieth birthday of Arthur Lehman Goodhart, who was, at the time, Emeritus Professor of Jurisprudence at Oxford University, retired Master of University College Oxford, and Honorary Fellow of Trinity Hall and Trinity College Cambridge.
