Faculty Schools Liaison Officer Ali LyonsThe Faculty is pleased to announce that Ali Lyons has been appointed as the first ever Schools Liaison Co-ordinator, working jointly with the Department of Land Economy. Ali will work to dispel the myths that turn some students away from Law at Cambridge, and to ensure that any bright, motivated student has the tools they need to access higher education.

To accomplish her goals, Ali will partner with Henry Mares and Claire Fenton-Glynn, the Faculty Access Officers. Together, this dedicated Access Team will continue the Faculty’s strong participation in outreach events such as the Faculty of Law Open Day, the Sixth Form Law Conference, and the Sutton Trust Summer School.

Originally from the United States, Ali studied English Literature at Cornell University and University College London. She hopes that, as Schools Liaison Co-ordinator, she will be able to give prospective students a better idea of what life might be like as a Cambridge Law student, and the many possible careers that could follow.

“The Faculty of Law is committed to reaching out to new students of all backgrounds,” said Ali. “I look forward to working with the enthusiastic Faculty and staff to supplement their outstanding work and to think of new ways to reach out to students.  My goal is to give students the knowledge they need to make the choice that’s right for them.”

If you are interested in the outreach initiatives at the Faculty of Law, don’t hesitate to contact the Access Team at access@law.cam.ac.uk, or get in touch with Ali directly by calling 01223 330094, or emailing all49@cam.ac.uk.
