Centre for English Legal History hosts 'Landmark Cases in Criminal Law' workshopOn 13 July 2015 the Centre for English Legal History hosted a workshop at the Faculty of Law entitled Landmark Cases in Criminal Law.

During the workshop 14 papers were presented on leading precedents in the criminal law from 1473 to 2005, from various analytical and historical perspectives.

The contributors were from Australia, Canada, the U.S., and the U.K; many were from the Cambridge Faculty of Law. Generously supported by both the Herbert Smith Freehills Visitor Scheme and the Cambridge Humanities Research Grants Scheme, the papers are forthcoming as a volume from Hart Publishing in 2016.

The workshop was organised by Henry Mares (Cambridge), Ian Williams (UCL), and Phil Handler (Manchester).
